Amazone's garden
Amazone is using its garden as a testing ground for ecological agriculture, circular economy and the forging of relationships. Fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers from the garden are used in our restaurant and the leftovers end up in our compost (which is also open to local residents). In our restaurant, we offer sustainable and ecological food at an affordable price.
The garden is a meeting place for the feminist and ecological movements. From March to October, we partner with the ASBL Fabrik to organise ‘open garden’-events. During these afternoons, you can observe the work being done, do some gardening yourself, stroll around, meet people, do things together, ask questions, discover and (re)settle. The event takes place every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm, and is open to all.
In Brussels, many women from different cultures are keen to share their knowledge surrounding food. The goal is to rediscover healthier eating habits, and avoid the consumption of food produced by an industry with a growing dependence on harmful ingredients that impact health and environment.
